Accounting & Payroll

A Malta company is required to keep proper accounting records, which are to be kept for a period of ten years at the registered office of the Company or at such other place as the Directors may determine from time to time.

A Malta company which engages in employment activities must comply with a number of legislative requirements. The company must register with the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) as an employer. Employees must be registered with the Employment and Training Corporation (ETC) and obtain employment licenses if they are not Maltese nationals. Employment Income falls to be taxed under the Final Settlement System (FSS), and employers must submit monthly returns to the IRD providing details such as number of employees, tax deducted and number of national insurance contributions for the month. The return together with payment covering wages tax and national insurance contributions must be filed with the FSS Unit within the IRD by not later than 30 days after the end of the previous month. At the end of the fiscal year (January to December) a reconciliation statement is submitted to the Department consolidating the data derived from the monthly returns.

Capstone provides payroll services which include preparation and filing of all documents with the relevant authorities.
